Stir-Fry Beef & Broccoli

I just bought a super pretty and affordable non-stick ceramic skillet from MINISO, and since we just snagged some fresh finds in Quiapo, I decided to make use of them both. Hence, the easy-to-make, very yummy stir-fry beef and broccoli.

Watch me talk about this pan and take a peek of my cooking here:

Stir-Fry Beef and Broccoli
Beef and broccoli goes very well together, and this savory dish just proves it! It's extremely easy and quick to make, and you can never go wrong with this recipe. I mean, this started as an experiment but it turned out perfectly and I've been cooking this ever since. This is also the ONLY recipe I can get Ezra to eat broccoli! Lol!

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, put the oyster sauce, soy sauce, Knorr liquid seasoning, and sugar together to make the marinade. Add in the meat and marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Using a wok or a skillet, heat cooking oil then add garlic. Put in the broccoli "flowers" once the garlic starts to brown. Toss and stir for 2 minutes or until it's nice and crispy. Set aside.
  3. Using the same pan, put in the marinated beef strips. Stir fry until meat is brown.
  4. Pour remaining marinade and add about 1 cup of water to make the beef more tender. Speckle some ginger powder, garlic powder, a little bit of salt, and a little bit of nutmeg powder. You can also add cooking wine if you want. Others even put sesame oil, but we're not fans of that so we're sticking with not adding it in.
  5. Simmer until beef is tender (about 6-10 minutes for sirloin but it depends so please check) and -- this is very important -- make sure it doesn't go dry. Just when the water evaporates, add cornstarch and stir to help the "sauce" thicken. Make a test taste then add salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Add the broccoli and let it sit for about 2-3 minutes. Serve. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

You can also add bell peppers if you wish 🙂 and to substitute cornstarch, in case you don't have it at home, you can use baking powder (not baking soda) 🙂
