Everything You Need To Know: Coco Grove Beach Resort, Siquijor

coco grove
Coco Grove is a resort that doesn’t need to be promoted anymore, to be honest. It is easily one of Siquijor’s best resorts and it has been consistently on top of the game for decades. When I was young, I remember Coco Grove being the “it” and most high-end resort in Siquijor. If you go there or have been there, people will say “Wow” for sure. Fast forward to today, which is over a decade later, a lot of other resorts have sprung — from budget to luxury — and still, Coco Grove is a superstar. So in this blog, I’m going to share (updated) answers to important FAQs, photos, a compiled video of our most recent experience, and the entire list of rates and services offered by Coco Grove.
best resort in siquijor
Our experience with Coco Grove is amazing, as usual. Their staff is super welcoming, helpful, polite, and friendly. Since we were on a tight schedule for this Siquijor trip, we only stayed at our ancestral house (Gotta spend time with family because #familyfirst ) and so we only went to Coco Grove for breakfast and half a day to lounge around. So yes, bitin. That is why we are definitely going back! Our short stay in Coco Grove was quite compendious, though. We were able to eat at all 3 restos, go around the entire resort, and I was able to get their updated list of services and rates. Yay!

Ambiance: ★★★★★

coco grove
✔︎ Long stretch of white sand beach dotted with native huts that are far apart from each other, enough to give you the exclusivity you deserve
✔︎ Coconut trees everywhere plus other well-maintained plants and flowers that add beauty to the place.

✔︎ The great thing about Coco Grove is that even though the resort gets fully booked, the area is so huge and cabanas/rooms are strategically located in “private corners” and so you will still feel “secluded” and the beach resort still won’t be crowded.
✔︎ Indeed a place to unplug, unwind, and spend some quality time with loved ones (or even have a well-deserved alone time for those who are traveling solo).
Hammocks are also available on certain areas. Perfect if you want some quiet time to read a book or even just to take a quick nap.

Food: ★★★★

Giving it a 4 because I personally think their food lacks a certain wow factor but still, it’s very appetizing and I’d always want to come back for more. I especially love their breakfast spreads and of course, their cakes most especially the mango cheesecake (Php 145 / USD 2.77), which is a MUST to order!!! So heavenly!!!

The resort covers a large area including 800 meters of white sand beach. Because it’s huge, the staff can provide you a map of the resort. Just go to the front desk and ask for one. I still have a copy of the map but it’s black and white and not very clear anymore but you can print this RESORT MAP which I got from their website.

Also, did you know you can set up a special dinner with your loved one? Of course, you just have to tell them in advance so they can set it up for you.

Evenings are also memorable in Coco Grove. On some nights, you can enjoy watching fire dancers while you dine under the stars and just by the sea. They also offer acoustic nights during Fridays and/or special occasions.

Pricing: ★★★

If you’re traveling on a budget, this resort might not be for you. But, you are very welcome to visit for breakfast or a day tour (which I suggest you do) so you won’t have to spend a lot. Their breakfast comes in sets and it’s pretty substantial, too. For around Php 200 (Price may vary depending on which breakfast set you choose), you get to pick between Continental, Filipino, American, Omelette, and Light Breakfasts (set menus are posted above). The resort’s rates may be quite expensive but honestly, it’s worth every cent so I don’t see any problem.

Downside

There is one downside that I can think of about this resort: No service coverage or very very weak signal. Outside the resort, you can easily get phone reception. When you get in, however, it will be so hard for you to get a signal and when you do find one, it can be very spotty.
