Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Cook the spaghetti noodles in salted boiling water, as per package instructions. Make sure it’s al dente. When done, drain and set aside.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced hotdogs and set them aside when half-done. (Jollibee seems to add their hotdogs on the last bit but I prefer to “partially fry” my hotdogs first)
  3. Set aside the hotdog oil.
  4. Using the same saucepan, sauté the minced garlic and minced onions in butter. Stir frequently until soft.
  5. Add ground beef and season with a bit of salt with pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Pour the Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce and the Tomato Sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes, then add banana catsup, pickle relish, 2 boxes of grated cheese (if your spaghetti sauce has added cheese already, you can just add 1 box), and the hotdogs you cooked earlier. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Add a dash of salt, if necessary.
  7. Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce. Top with grated cheese and serve.
Recipe Notes
  • • You can use Del Monte Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce instead of Fiesta, if you’re a Del Monte loyalist. Alternatively, use UFC Sweet Filipino Style spaghetti. This is perfect if you want to tone down the sweetness a bit.
  • • You can use any cheddar or American cheese, but I personally like OK! Cheese because of its well-balanced taste, creaminess and affordability.
  • • I use 2.5 to 3 boxes of cheese. 1.5 to 2 for making the sauce and 1 for the toppings. I noticed that the more cheese, the more Jollibee-ish it gets. (And we are crazy about cheese) You can of course adjust according to your liking.
  • • If Tender Juicy hotdogs are not available in your area, pick another brand of hotdogs or sausages that you or your children like. Martin Purefoods hotdogs in the US is a good alternative as well. You can get those in selected Asian supermarkets or Fil-Am stores.
  • • Another style is to ditch the Sweet Style spaghetti sauce and just use Tomato Sauce and Banana Catsup. Balance the flavor until you get that Jollibee-style sauce. (Think: There wasn’t any ready-made Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce available long time ago when Jollibee started. hihi)
